AVPN partners and delegates visit the Annika Linden Centre
Annika Linden Centre and Inspirasia Foundation were honoured to welcome 25 AVPN South East Asia Summit delegates to the Annika Linden Centre on an impact visit earlier this month. The visit provided the delegates with the opportunity to connect with social purpose organizations that are working on the ground to make an impact - which tied in extremely well with the theme of the summit: ‘Leveraging the Power of Networks’.
During the visit, AVPN partners and summit delegates, who were mostly philanthropists, corporations, impact investors, and capacity builders focusing on livelihood, health, education and human rights across the Southeast Asia region, were given the opportunity to experience first-hand the collaborative work of three of Inspirasia’s grantees - DNetwork, YPK Bali and Puspadi Bali – which are all housed at the Annika Linden Centre. The delegates also had the opportunity to speak with clients of each organization, to listen to their story and discover the impact that the support from these organizations has had on their lives.
While each of the clients’ personal stories inspired the delegates, the stories of Darma, Puspadi’s fieldworker, and that of Kadek Agus, from DNetwork, were extremely moving. Both once on the receiving end of the organizations, Darma and Kadek are now working for the organization, which shows that the organizations not only impacted their lives through the support given to them but also inspired both of them to do more, by supporting and empowering fellow people with disabilities and their families.
A fireside talk and Q&A session with all of the organizations - which was held on the Annika Linden Centre’s patio at the end of the visit - sparked some ideas for future collaboration and partnership with corporate CSRs and other organizations that work in the sector and were visiting the centre that day.
A big thank you to AVPN and the Annika Linden Centre for making this visit happen! The Annika Linden Centre is funded by Inspirasia Foundation. If you would like to find out more about the fantastic work they do, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
