DNetwork Visits SLB Schools in Bali
Providing knowledge about work preparation to final-grade students is part of DNetwork’s educational program which aims to prepare Persons with Disabilities to enter the working environment after graduating from school. This is crucial because after graduating from school, the students will be faced with the choice of continuing their higher education or working. These students need knowledge of how to prepare to start searching for work, what documents need to be prepared when applying for work, and what challenges they might face while working. During this activity, DNetwork also had the opportunity to identify interests and talents, as well as the training needed by the children to increase the capacity of Persons with Disabilities to enter the working environment.
DNetwork also recently visited SLB Negeri 1 Denpasar and SLB Negeri 2 Denpasar, the two schools which have the majority of Blind and Deaf students. It is hoped that through this educational program, DNetwork can help increase final-grade students’ knowledge, confidence and skills, which can open access to jobs in the next year, and then connect the students to job opportunities.
Inspirasia Foundation has been supporting DNetwork since its launch in 2013.
