Jelita's spirit to learns inspires all

Although Jelita has been part of YPK's Education Program for quite some time, her spirit to learn is always truly inspiration - it can be felt by everyone in the classroom and is also contagious to her friends! Despite her difficulties to remember things, she has slowly made progresses. She finally can write her own name and is now also able to do the shopping, as she understands how to use money and calculate prices, and, most importantly, her communication has improved!

Jelita's parents are also ecstatic that Jelita can now wash her own clothes, something which was previously done by her mother. Now, she is growing into a more confident teenager, she is now learning about self care, as well as unwritten social rules to equip her in day-today life. Well done to Jelita and all YPK’s Educational Program team who work hard to empower children with disabilities with skills that will allow them to be more confident and independent.

“Jelita loves to laugh. She is one of most favorite students in the program. It was great to help her with better communication skills so she can enjoy the learning process both at YPK and at home.”
