Puspadi conduct survey to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on people with disabilities
As part of the Disability Persons Organization and Covid19 Response Organization Network of Persons with Disabilities, PUSPADI Bali, an Inspirasia grantee since 2004, conducted a second wave of surveys to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on people with disabilities in Indonesia. This survey aims to map the problems and needs of persons with disabilities. The results of this survey will be used as a basis for advocacy to the government and other parties to ensure the fulfilment of the rights of persons with disabilities during the pandemic, both in handling the condition and in their recovery.
This survey is also a lesson for the Bali PUSPADI team in terms of direct practice of conducting online surveys as well as building networks with DPOs in 34 provinces in Indonesia because the survey was conducted with 50 respondents in each province. Through this survey, Puspadi Bali can understand the condition of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) during COVID19 and what social safety networks are obtained from the government.
In addition to this, PUSPADI Bali also conducted an additional survey of 70 PwD users of mobility equipment, consisting of 10 prosthetic legs above the knee, 10 below the knee, 10 braces, 10 AFOs, 10 pediatric wheelchairs, 10 adult wheelchairs and 10 walking stick users.
