Task Force created to realize the fulfilment of the rights of persons with disabilities for the need for assistive devices
Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, DPOs (Organizations of Persons with Disabilities) have not been able to fully meet the need for mobility equipment due to limited funding, while the need for mobility aids tends to increase from year to year.
For this reason, DPOs hope that the government will be able to meet the need for adaptive mobility aids to include disability in their respective planning, budgeting and programs, including the provision of assistive devices. Inspirasia is proud to be supporting Puspadi Bali and UCPRUK Yogyakarta, who, in collaboration with Annika Linden Centre, have conducted a series of meetings, discussions and workshops involving the Regional Committee of Disability, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, LKS and community leaders to realize the fulfilment of the rights of persons with disabilities for the need for assistive devices in Bali.
To end activities in 2021, an Advocacy Workshop was held on "Learning Good Practices for Special Health Insurance (Jamkesus) for Disability DIY Province as a Good Model for the Sustainability of Fulfilment of Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities in Bali Province" with resource persons from the Head of the DIY Health Service, Sukoharjo Health Office, Dinas Kesehatan Bali Province Health, Bali Provincial Social Service, Bali Provincial BAPPEDA, UCPRUK and Bali Puspadi. To follow up on the results of this workshop, a Task Force for the Bali Province Disability Assistance Devices was formed, which consists of the following members:
