PROJECT ASSISTANT
About Inspirasia Foundation
Inspirasia Foundation is a grant-making foundation dedicated to funding and supporting exceptional social projects with a focus on health and education for marginalised communities and persons with disabilities. The Foundation aims to give strategically and to work with grantees to be more effective and efficient, leading to more impact and long-term sustainable growth. By sharing best practices, knowledge and expertise, the Foundation also aims to INSPIRE others to give and to give well.
In Malta, the Foundation organises Changemakers and is an Associating Member of Academy of Givers, which both support social initiatives in Malta.
Changemakers, founded by Inspirasia Foundation, aims to offer opportunities for social purpose organisations to receive financial and non-financial support to develop and materialise their initiative that will have a positive social impact on Malta. Since 2022 this was turned into a TV format running over 4 programmes on national TV.
Academy of Givers is a registered Voluntary Organisation (VO/1949), with the aim to create a community of givers. Where companies and philanthropists can come together to improve philanthropic and corporate responsibility efforts for its members and for Malta through learning, inspiring, sharing best practices and recognising those doing good.
The position will be under Inspirasia Foundation Malta (VO/1299) but will work on both initiatives.
Project Assistant
The Project Assistant will act as a dynamic part to Changemakers and Academy of Givers. Dividing their time (40/60 Changemakers/Academy of Givers) between both initiatives, the Project Assistant will help run and develop the initiatives. The Project Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager and CEO of the Foundation to achieve the Foundation’s objectives and assist with any related projects.
ROLE AND TASK DESCRIPTION
Changemakers
Assist the Project Manager (PM) in ensuring all tasks and objectives are reached;
Assist in organising Changemakers yearly and any other related events;
Follow up with past winners, as requested by the Project Manager;
Share promotional materials online and reaching out to potential applicants, creating, proofreading and sharing content and information on social media channels
Help on site during auditions, meetings and filming. Assist with organising the participants; documents needs; logistics etc.
Take minutes and notes during meetings;
Help update and populate the website.
Academy of Givers
Populate the website on a regular basis to update events, membership details, resources and other sections as required.
Creating and sharing promotional material and content for Social Media etc
Organise monthly events for members and Voluntary Organisations. To work on logistics, coordination, pre-event, registration and post-events follow-ups and reporting.
Follow the membership process to register new members and reach out to potential members.
Create and send out a monthly newsletter for Members.
Follow up with services providers, members and others within the sector to obtain information and resources related to main topics, events, news and updates.
Lead and organise an Academy Awards in Q4. This will probably consist of a sit-down dinner and awards ceremony.
To help organise Committee Meetings, take minutes, follow up and update with Committee members on decisions taken.
REQUIREMENTS
University Degree (Communications, Humanitarian or Development Studies, Sustainability, ESG, Corporate Responsibility, Marketing, Management, Entrepreneurship or other related areas);
Experience working in the voluntary or non-profit sector or Foundations advantageous;
Experience working in the sustainability, philanthropy and corporate responsibility sectors advantageous;
Must be able to work well alone and also within a team;
Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
Presentable and dynamic personality;
Excellent organisational skills;
Computer literate (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc);
Able to use design programmes like photoshop and InDesign an asset;
Fluency in written and spoken English, good reporting writing and communication skills is required;
Good communication, writing and reading skills in Maltese an asset;
Experience in monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement and grant-making processes and proposals an asset.
Details of the Position:
Based in Malta
1-year full-time contract from April 2023 with the possibility to extend
Working in a small team on a number of interesting initiatives
