DNetwork Supports Entrepreneurs with Disabilities

During the Covid-19 pandemic, just like other organizations, Inspirasia’s grantee DNetwork was encouraged to shift its programs online. Initially, DNetwork focused on placing people with disabilities in the formal work sector, which is unfortunately not possible at the moment due to the reduced employment opportunities offered as a result of this pandemic. DNetwork is now trying to maximize support for people with disabilities in the informal sector, especially entrepreneurship.

So far, DNetwork has held four entrepreneurship-themed WhatsApp classes by collaborating with speakers from various companies and organizations who are experienced in their fields. More than 150 people with disabilities attended the classes. One of the participants, Ahmad Mutakin, a blind person from West Java, said "I have joined DNetwork’s WhatsApp classes three times and am very grateful that I have been able to learn about entrepreneurship. The material presented was very complete, from how to start a business, developing a product, to marketing strategies. The training organized by DNetwork is very accessible, so it is easy to understand.”

DNetwork also helps to promote businesses run by people with disabilities. Through social media, DNetwork is trying to reach a wider audience so that these businesses get more customers. This initiative is also supported by local collaborators who help to promote to an even broader audience.
