YPK Bali help Ibu Ari become independent and confident once again

Ibu Ari did not think that, at the age of 37, she would have her first stroke while working. This first stroke created limitations in the movement of her hands and feet, so she had to quit her job as a housemaid. Her mobility was very weak, making it difficult to walk and difficult to talk. This has shaken up her physical and mental condition too. Ibu Ari continues to work on her recovery.

The first time she came to YPK Bali she was sitting in a wheelchair with her husband and child. Ibu Ari found it very difficult to move, shifting from a wheelchair to a bed, and all activities required the help of her husband. However, Ibu Ari had extraordinary enthusiasm to continue training at YPK. The physiotherapy team visited Mrs Ari at home several times to monitor and provide home exercises.

Keen to return to her activities, she did not lose her enthusiasm to practice. After two months of therapy, a lot of progress was achieved. She is now more confident, able to walk independently, and can carry out her daily activities at home slowly. This has cheered Ibu Ari up and she has begun to communicate more verbally. Well done to our grantee YPK Bali, for continuously making such positive impact in people’s lives.
